2020 Worksteer/Bells Lawn Care
2019 Newbreed
2018 Pure/Monsta
2017 Pure

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
C/EH, 2B or 3B

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
overall Steven Lloyd hands down

Why do you like the game of softball?
the friends you meet and the chance to compete against the best

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
lots of young talent out there, not sure if they are up and coming or already there but Marshburn, Bradley Jones and my boy Zane Migues are all already at the top of the game. Other names to watch out for are Brian Dezern and Emilson Marquez.  Also kyle fisher without a doubt, he might be the best athlete in the entire conference

What is your height and weight?
5'10" 210

Where do you call home?
i live in Myrtle Beach, SC but my home will always be a little town called Taylorsville,  NC

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
golfing, hunting, fishing or just relaxing, i live by the ocean so on the beach with a cooler of beer aint a bad way to spend a weekend

What do you do for a living?
I'm a project engineer for a private utilities and pump systems company

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
baseball, football and basketball in high school.
college baseball, oddly enough i was a pitcher

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
buddy of mine asked me to play company softball, never knew it was played on the weekends and was so serious.
Jeremy Isenhower of Resmondo introduced me to the upper lever years ago, i took some time off and a good friend of mine Craig Shaw gave me my second shot

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
everything, its a different animal.  players are just better, balls are hit harder, defense is better, the pitchers are pitching with a plan

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
no, i just try to do what my team needs me to do to give us the best chance of winning.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
winning the AA world with Pure/Monsta and being named All World

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Craig Shaw is a good friend of mine and still is.  He gave me a shot on a great team when i was relatively unknown.  And for that i'm thankful.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
play the game with some class and dignity. you never know who is watching, also treat the umpires with some respect. there job is hard enough

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
2 finger overlap 27 oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
its the offseason, i normally take a break and golf and relax, hit the occasional BP and workout.  thats about it

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Boston Red Sox
Philadelphia Eagles
Duke basketball
golf is my next favorite sport without a doubt, i actually enjoy it more, im just better at softball and no one wants to fly me around the country for me to play golf sadly

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
i always play with my room key in my back pocket when im on the road, don't ask i have no idea the reasoning

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
something country or classic rock

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
not for me to decide i'm prolly gonna play either way because i enjoy it, but i will say the umpiring has went down hill, you have your select few that are really good, the others not so much, they also need to ring up guys on major teams when a cookie is thrown

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
boones and the boo n brew in KC, dont get alot of sleep and its hard on your liver but its a blast

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
myrtle beach once they get the fields redone, because its 2 miles from my house and i can sleep in my own bed.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
pick a place with decent food and booze

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Shaw throwing the scorebook or hat or whatever he could get his hands on and a guy falling running out of the box looking like a fish out of water, not gonna name names  hahaha

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
i have a ridiculous bourbon/whiskey/scotch collection

Outside of the creepy small hands he has and the funny way he talks the dude can hit! Good guy, good teammate, and have watched him play a lot of positions really well. Any team would be better with him. Good luck buddy.

  2. Bob Oneal says:

Great ballplayer , Works hard to be the best he can be , can play anywhere you put him he will give you 100 % , great guy and teammate . Good luck , Pat I don’t know the hand size , I never held them ….

  3. Shaw says:

Pat is one of my all time favorite hitters. He knows the strike zone better than anyone including the homeplate umpire. Hits for power and can hit for high average when he has to keep it down. Great teammate as well.

  4. Adam Rickards says:

Glad to call this guy a friend of mine. Awesome person here and a team leader.
