Fence Brokers/Gametime Supply/Worth

Why do you like the game of softball?
Competition and meeting some of my closest friends

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Ironically and not biased probably my late friend John Glidewell

To play the game at the level he did at over 40 yrs old, Todd Joerling impressed me in my early years

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
He's been up but Pat Burton is probably the best younger player I've seen, one of the best SS in the country

What is your nickname in softball?
Stinglu, thanks to Hartwick

What is your height and weight?
6'0'' 200

Where do you call home?
Fort Smith, AR

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Fishing or Grilling and hanging out, sometimes watching some local softball

What do you do for a living?
High School Football Coach

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball and Football in HS, Baseball at UAFS in College

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
My dad has sponsored and played on great teams since I was born.  He put together one of the top teams in AR history my first year to play and I was lucky enough to play in the ASA Major Nationals in 97' and we finished 7th, I had no idea who we were playing against until recently, a lot of the Major softball legends some that are still playing.  From there I just played hard and was a good teammate and have been lucky enough to play on some great teams

What was the best advice you were ever given?
Life: My dad was a NY Jet and a National Champion Powerlifter and he always told me balancing in your mental, physical, and spriritual life is important. Anytime one becomes too important, it and the others suffer.

Softball: Johnny G taught me how to hit backside, made me a much better player

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Don't be satisfied with being mediocre, the game has a lot to offer you if you work hard and play the game right, and most of all show your appreciation to your sponsors.  They don't have to spend thousands of dollars so we men can play a kids game…I've been lucky enough to play for two of the best: Thanks Walker and Big Al

What position do you play?
3rd base, Middle, Pitch a little

What batting grip do you use?
Overlap

What ounce bat do you use?
Whatever I grab, ussually 27 or 28

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Lift, BP, field incrediballs hit as hard as someone can in a gym from about 30ft best way I've found to improve reaction time and become a good corner infielder.

What is your favorite sports team?
Houston Oilers back in the day, Jets, Cardinals, bandwagon Saints Fan

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Fishing and Duck hunting if they're sports….or football

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
The shorts are magical but only a few in Arkansas have witnessed their miracles

What is your most memorable softball moment?
I have 2

It was good and bad we got beat in the bottom of the 7th by one run in both games we lost at A world and finished 3rd, highest finishing Arkansas team ever I believe and I made All-World

Other would be my first year to make all-arkansas and play in the busch All-Star game, I hit one as good as I could hit it, one of those you don't feel. Mike Macenko was catching for the Texas All-Stars…he was 5-5 with 5 bombs in the trees and when I hit it from behind the plate I heard him say Damn……that was pretty cool.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Weird probably Easy Lover by Phil Collins, Omaha by counting crows or some MJ

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
deaden the bats, larger strike zone in Majors

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
Major at Euless, First time I ussually get to see all the out of state guys each year, Busch in LR is also a favorite because it's where I grew up watching dads teams play the Bell Corps and Williams Worth Teams

What is the best softball field you have played at and why?
Fields at the dudley and Smoky are awesome because it's one of the few places we as softball players have a chance to play in front of large numbers of true softball fans

Nicest is probably crackerjack at Disney

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Wherever Walker is buying, LOL

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Oh Lord where to start most guys funniest moments would involve me because I used to be an idiot on the field.  Sorry I can't pick one.  Probably Joey Powell or big Al at the plate, actually trying to run the bases.  Seriously it was probably when I scared the crap out of Bob Hughes when I ran into right field with my shirt tied up in a knot and jumped on him with a hug after they won the dudley or when me and Brian Glass played in a terential downpoor with our shirts off (neither of us were impressive), I was laughing till I cried.  They used a spoon so they knew where home plate was and our sponsor had to come in when Michael Wages got hurt and he got the game winning hit,  Some might say an instance when Rusty was involved.  LOL

I couldn't find many pictures of you so I threw in the Glidewell picture when he wore your jersey, lol
