What positions do you play and what is your best position?
3rd but can play all positions in the IF

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Luis Renya is very exciting to watch play defense. Dale Brungardt swings very hard and it looks like someone well get hurt, maybe him.

Why do you like the game of softball?
The competitiveness and the friendships.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Kori Brede is it. He will be out there this year.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
I have a couple, guys I started playing with call me Danger, obviously from Austin Powers. Now it's either Pow or Pow Pow.

What is your height and weight?
6'2, 220

Where do you call home?
Salem, Oregon

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With my family, Nicki, Rylee, and Beau.

What do you do for a living?
Grounds maintenance at a youth correction facility.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Football and baseball in high school and college baseball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
My sister asked me to play on her coed summer league team, and the next year I got asked to play on a D team. A couple years later I went to a C team in Washington, then Jeremy Guillory and Jose Sanchez got a hold off me.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Everyone is there to play and win. Nobody is there just to be there.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I wouldn't say any one player, I try to pay attention to guys I respect and get bits and pieces from a lot of different players.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
A game that sticks out is playing against Rusmondo at toys for tots. We went three innings because of time and put up a combined score of almost 80 runs. The crowd was getting huge and the game was intense all the way through. We lost by 2 I think, it was so much fun.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
My girlfriend Nicki, basically she tells me to suck it up and stop whining, and doesn't let me make excuses.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Hustle and play hard. Someone and everyone is watching.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Interlock my pointer and pinky fingers. 27-28oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
BP in the cages, mostly because of Oregon weather. We hit outside when we can. Weights and cardio.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
SEAHAWKS!!

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Whatever I did last time that worked.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Kings of the Northwest. It's a tournament to remember Mike Ford. 50 plus teams show up, and unlim HRs.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Hoodview sports complex in Portland Oregon. Great turf fields with a beautiful backdrop of mountains. It is very well taken care of.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Chick fil a. Love that place.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Jeremy Guillory on the field in November is pretty entertaining to watch. Gangnam style comes on and watch him do his magic.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
When I found out I was having a child, I quit chewing. I had chewed for 15 years, it's been a year and a half now. Feels pretty good.

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
A friends dad makes these awesome awards for a local midnight madness tournament, I never got one but I always wanted one.

    I’ve known Pow Pow since he was in kindergarten, playing little league and basketball with my son. They were very close friends back in the day. Nice to see he’s keeping up with his athletic ability. He’s a great guy off the field, too!
