SS/middle/2nd….SS is my best position

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Luis Reyna, Flip, Mike Nino, Vitcak, Tre Campbell

Why do you like the game of softball?
Love battling with my teammates

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Ummm my boy Antz is a young stud, and my boy JD Matthews

What is your height and weight?
5’6 175

Where do you call home?
Richmond Hill, GA

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
With my wife and kids or golfing 

What do you do for a living?
Active duty Army 

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played some college ball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Played E ball in Virginia. I got stationed in VA and walked to the park with my cleats and glove and just asked if anybody needed 1 and I’ve been playing since.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Defense and pitching

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Rob Bailey has always told me to stay humble and honestly I never knew what it meant. But as I get older and wiser in this game I understand now.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Your talent doesn’t out do someone with less talent and works there butt off

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
25-26oz. Natural

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Lots of BP n gym

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Huge Bills fan, golf

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Rick Ross

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Compression test higher

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Boones

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Columbus GA.  Atmosphere

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
BWW

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Mooch kicking the ball to 2nd to make and out. Ridiculous!!!!

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I played semi pro baseball after my freshmen year in high school

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
Took 2nd place in a homerun derby when I was 16 yrs old. N got a bat signed by babe Ruth’s daughter.

    I had the pleasure of playing with yorkie this past season, guy brings it every time he steps on the field, love his intensity and passion for the game, He would be a good fit for any team on an off the field. Good Luck in 2017 hope to see ya out there

    Great dude & awesome teammate would give you the shirt off his back. I know his numbers don’t show what kind of player Matt is but he does what’s needed for the team 1st he would be a great pick up for any team out there looking for a player hard working and dedicated!!!!.

    York is great ball player. Good teammate hits very well has good power to all fields. Is a man of his word and do what he say he is going to do he will help any team out there.

    Matt York is a great player to have on your team, plays with a lot of intensity and always gives his 100%. Always enjoy getting the opportunity to play on the same field as him, a very tough out at the plate and can make the routine and great plays as well. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to any team.

    Midget. Idk about that but pingüino can ball. Offensive. Defensive stud. Great dude and a monster player. Plays way bigger then his tennaged frame. Lol he’s a stud for sure.
