Major World Series countdown – #9 Team Combat/Pacific Headwear
#9 Team Combat/Pacific Headwear
Kent, Washington
Combat has had a rough year. They did win one of the Seattle dual events, however they are just 2-4 on baseball fields and both wins were against 'B' teams. They averaged 18.2 runs per game and allowed 21.5 on the big fields. Combat will have Dale Roe at third base for the series.
Combat is led by their veterans shortstop Jeff McGavin, outfielder Johnny McCraw, and catcher Scott Brown. Scott is fully recovered from hamstring injuries and gall bladder surgery that kept him out much of the season.
Outlook: This team is in a tough spot, playing a hot R&M Metals team to start at 10:30 AM on Thursday morning. I think Combat is going to try and use its left handed power and try to just overpower their opponents with homers. It won't work for long but it could be fun to watch. This teams has absolutely NOTHING to lose by going out and just cutting loose.
Player's to watch
Casey Rogowski should make quick work of the short porch
McCraw usually turns it up a notch in the Series
Franck Henry can carry a team offensively at times
Maybe Scott Brown can work the umps
