Major World Series countdown – #2 Laservision/Annihilation/Supreme/D2E/Easton
Cicero, New York
Laservision built this team for one reason, to win the World Series. The season didn't pan out like they planned and Laservision only one won tournament, the rain shortened KC Major. Laservision is 18-10 on baseball fields, 1-5 vs Major teams, and 9-3 vs 'A' teams. They score 21.5 runs on the big fields and give up 16.5. If you look at these numbers you quickly understand that they will need help from the rest of the field to beat Resmondo and become world champs. It will take someone upsetting Resmondo in the winner's bracket and then Laservision or TYJA or Nordkap to send Resmondo home to crown a new champ. One team is not going to beat Resmondo twice.
Laservision is led by leadoff man and shortstop Bryson Baker's consistent play and Brian Wegman's relentless attacking offensive style. The team plays solid by not great defense and has been searching for a pitching solution all season.
Outlook: Look for pitching by committee to be used and this team needs Helmer, Rick Baker, and others to turn it up a notch offensively. Much like some of the lower teams, these guys need to hustle, genuinely pull for each other, and assume roles if they are to pull off the upset. Coming off an 0-2 weekend at the Conference Championships, this team shouldn't look past any opponent.
