2014 interview:

What positions do you play and what is your best position?
1B

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
The best all around in my opinion is Wegman.  I had the chance to take the field with him a couple years ago in Korea, had a great time.  Purcell is another one that gets in done in the field and at the plate.

Why do you like the game of softball?
I love the traveling and my competitive nature just won't let me hang it up just yet.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
There are several up and comers, Tommy Melton, Jason Magnum, Stuart Snell and I like the way Lee Payne plays the game.  I think Cam Byars is one that doesn't get the recognition he deserves for what he does on the mound.

What is your height and weight?
6'1 240

Where do you call home?
Originally from Winchester, TN but I reside in Panama City, FL

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
on the water fishing or just hanging out with the fam

What do you do for a living?
Electrician in the US Air Force

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Football, Baseball, and Basketball in High School and played college baseball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
My boy Dustin Roberts hooked me up when I left Hawaii and came back stateside.  Troy Nance was the first to give me a shot and last year Greg Millsaps and Donnie Munford took a chance on me

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Pitching and defense

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Mine would probably be on the Military side winning 5 Armed Forces Championships

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
My Mom when I was growing up, she was one of the best females I had ever watched play softball

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Play hard, stay loyal to the ones that got you where you are

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
drop the pinky, overlap a couple fingers
27oz endload

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
lift and take BP

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Atlanta Braves and Tennessee Vols football

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
just a lot of OCD crap

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Ozzy, Crazy Train

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
nothing

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Smoky and the Mullet, all you can hit

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Disney, hands down

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
anywhere that's open

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
I have way too many to mention, I have played with Tommy Melton the last 5 years and if you have ever took the field with him, you understand where I am coming from.
