Why do you like the game of softball? 
Hanging out with the guys and the competition

Was softball better back "in the day" or better today? 
Back in the day when players actually wanted to play up and there was a local A and B program.   All the flying makes you want to retire!

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play? 
Andy Purcell

What position do you play?
Outfield

Where do you call home?
Laurinburg, NC

What do you do for a living?
Own a pharmaceutical distributorship

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
All three.. Scotland High, St. Andrews Presbyterian College NCAA Div II… Signed as a free agent with the Red Sox as a Pitcher.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started playing on a B/C team in 1997 with Bryant’s softball out of NC then in mid season went to Jerry’s Softball.

What batting grip do you use?
One finger off the knob.

What is your favorite sports team?
Duke Blue Devils

What is your favorite sport other than softball?
Baseball

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Just to keep the same routine before hitting

What is your most memorable softball moment? 
Winning my first world which was ASA B in 1997.   The were over 100 teams in it.

Is slowpitch softball a sport or a game?
Very much a sport today.   Takes a lot of time and work to be good at the upper level now.   The teams are all good.   You have to lift, run, and take bp to have success.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Find a fair way to split the talent at the major level.

What is your favorite non-World tournament?
Boones!   All you can hit!   Old school softball….

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Hmm, don’t know about the funniest but the best thing was when Todd Martin left his shoes on the field last year and actually stayed retired.   He was one of the all time greats for sure…
