What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Right field, catch, first base and DH

Why do you like the game of softball?
I love the game of softball because it gives me something to compete at.  You have to put time in the gym and lots of BP to succeed.  It also brings you in contact with people from all over the country. I've made some great friends through softball that I wouldn't have met otherwise

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
My friends call me "Bud" lol.  When I first started playing in Houston I would go to other fields between games to pick up extra ones by saying " hey bud you need anybody". My friend Pete thought it was so funny and just started calling me Bud.  Stuck ever since

What is your height and weight?
I'm 6'4
240lbs

Where do you call home?
Houston, Texas

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Off weekends are spent watching my daughter and nephew play select baseball and softball.  If we aren't at the ballpark then me and the wife load up the RV with the ATV and drive to the mud park and get a little dirty

What do you do for a living?
I work for myself doing AC installation and repair.   Also do construction and remodeling

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played baseball and basketball in high school. After I graduated I traveled the country playing 2 man beach volleyball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started playing softball in deep east Texas with my family. During the summer we would play backwoods tourneys. I started getting noticed because I was fast and had good bat control.  I couldn't hit homeruns to save my life lol. As I got older and started working out I figured out how to hit with power and it just took off from there

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
I would say the biggest difference is the ball of course lol. But also how friendly everyone was.  It's like everyone wants to see everyone else succeed and do well

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Always stay positive and put the work in!  Always have a plan before you step into the box and never say you didn't give EVERY game all you had

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Dropped pinky and 27oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
I play pretty much year round. Take BP at least twice a week and in the gym 5 days a week

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
One year I went to Vegas and met Pete Rose.  He is my dads favorite player so I had a few items signed for him.  When my dad opened them I will never forget the look on his face
