What positions do you play and what is your best position?
SS/5man. I like playing 5man. Ive always enjoy turning a double play.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Brian Macler. He had a terrible accident and was told he wont be able to play. Present day he is a fast pitch god and one hell of a softball player.

Why do you like the game of softball?
The same reason i like baseball. its a game i've watched and played since being young

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Vince Gutierre.  Played ball most of my life with him and hes got everything but big boy pop

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Jakjak and being that my group of friends have 3 different jack's. I'm jakjak

What is your height and weight?
I'm 5'10/220

I'm a pipe fitter for a fire sprinkler company

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Baseball  for 4 high school, 2 junior college, and 2 seasons of independent league  baseball

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Fresh outta pro ball a guy named eddie b seen me play on a pick up team and from there i started the caligold life #FNTS.  Made a small name for myself and with comp level baseball in me i figure why not try uppers

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Thats easy. Consistency.  At that level everyone puts in the time to be good

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Not that i can think of.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
First game playing up against classic glass. Didnt make an out or an error that game

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Damien Smith of classic glass. Smartest player i've ever been around.  He's taught me to simplify the hitting game and pick up the defensive game.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Just a pinky over lap and a 26

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
League and bp

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Oakland A's

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Geez i have a bunch. I'm not OCD but i only swing stamp up and level the batter's box are just a couple

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Easy same as in pro ball. Lean like a cholo. Stupid song but funny as hell when i do my routine to the beat

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
A buddy scorpion himself tracking a ball

Are you kidding me, D Player?

    • DW says:

Actually his gosoftball player profile shows straight C

    • JY15 says:

I know! The nerve of some people wanting to get better and move up!! Doesn’t he know all conference
Players were born C or above!!

    • DW says:

When you think about it, where do new conference players come from? Some states have zero C teams. Which means that states best player is on a ‘D’ team.

So C/D is where new players come from. I remember a Conference ‘B’ team picked up an ‘E’ player once. Jesse Harrison.

  2. jack chapman says:

Ive played with/against every top player coming outta nor cal. Just give me a chance to play ball like i know how to and u won’t be disappointed. Kimster if u have a team I like to show u wat im capable of. Even willing to pay for part of my tryout expense.

  3. CTerry19 says:

Jack is a good all-around player. He would be an asset to any middle infield (SS/5M/2B). Good luck Jack, hope someone will take a chance so you can prove your worth.

  4. PJ Garcia says:

Jack is a very good ball player! Don’t sleep on him. If someone gives him a chance you won’t be disappointed.

  5. Norcalplayer says:

This dude is a good baller..not like the guy pretending on YouTube…don’t pass on him

    • Daniel says:

Who’s the guy pretending on YouTube? You talking about the guy that’s playing conference ball? That’s bitch made shit. Taking shots at people on the Internet. I bet you. B superstar Huh. Gtfo with this shit

  6. Jack is one of the best infielders in NORCAL and he bangs left handed i hope you Make it my dude you deserve it and for the haters keep hating only makes my dude better aaaaaayyyyy #teamlightskin

  7. Kimster says:

My bad Jack, everyone in CA play D! Good Luck…

  8. Tim Millette says:

Jack is very talented…in the pre Conference days Jack would have been playing A ball…dont hate of the player because NorCal understands the upper levels of USSSA are way to expensive to particulate in.
NorCal is full of potential top level softball players…if you doubt that…just look at how many D1/drafted baseball players come from NorCal.

  9. So Cal says:

All of Cali is like this. So Cal is pretty much a D area as concerns USSSA. There’s only about 4-5 C teams also. Many guys in D and C could hang in the Conf. Heck, many HAVE played Conf.

  10. T says:

“Jack is very talented…in the pre Conference days Jack would have been playing A ball…dont hate of the player because NorCal understands the upper levels of USSSA are way to expensive to particulate in.”

So why don’t the state directors start bumping teams and players in state? I know states bump the top 10% from state tournaments. I know the conference is expensive buy you can’t just blame the conference on why you can’t have C or B teams in state.

  11. You know whats funny says:

Jack is not in the team picture or am I missing something ??

  12. Pinky says:

Played with and known this guy for years he can steaight up ball at any level he picks it and can take and a good dude will def help out a team

  13. Sactownmess says:

There are basically no C teams and almost no C tourneys in Norcal. Everyone around here plays down, there are 2 conference ballplayers in my D rec league. Most of the 10% teams break up and stay down as new teams. The E division is what has killed tourney softball in Caly, that and the expense of competing with the big dogs.

  14. norcal says:

To daniel..yep that guy on the tube is garbage barely can field and hit in E and D..he sucked his way there..look at there record bud..2 wins maybe 3..is hardly a conference team..thanks for the conference donation! Anyways jack can ball!! Plus other over looked talent in NorCal..

  15. Hippie says:

Jack is a helluva ball player. Always positive always give 110% and leaves it all on the feild and always has a smile on his face. Any team would love this guy. One of the best teammates ive ever played with and always hated playing against him. Good luck brotha. Sending the positive vibes your way next year

  16. Retiredguy says:

You know what’s funny is, Jack is the second guy from the bottom left in the picture. Dumbass.

  17. Jack says:

He is not in the WSC team photo but that’s because we tag him in those ten pics because he is family.

That being said Jakjak has been and is my teammate on numerous teams. Great guy really good ball player. Just give him a chance.

  18. Jack says:

    *team not ten

  19. Pini says:

Great guy and one Hella of a ball player good luck in the future jakjak

  20. Garcia 2.0 says:

What’s funny about reading all these comments from a year ago is that he got to play conference this year and tore it up. Pretty sure he helped his team take 3rd in the major with “Bay Area legends”. Jack is a hella good ass ball player anyone would be lucky to have him on his roster

  21. JJobe says:

Why is there so much hate…. Jack I wish you the best of luck, Anyteam that gives you a shot to play will not be dissaponted… One of the best fielders and hitters ive seen in the softball world. Good luck bro…. and to all you haters on this thread eat a dick!
