Who are you playing with in 2013?
Retired as of now.  I am definitely going to stay in shape and maybe someone may need me at the end of next season.  It was a very frustrating and difficult year for me, as I found it harder to get off of work for tournaments.  The most important reason I decided to call it quits is because my main priorities are God and family.  I feel sometimes we, as players, continue to travel and play out of selfishness and trying to fulfill our childhood goals.  I know everyone has their unique situations, but for me, softball does not compare to me wanting to spend time with my little girl.  Of course, I will continue to be a league ball hero 🙂

Why do you like the game of softball?
The thing I am going to miss the most is what happens between games and after games.  The relationships I have been fortunate enough to have will always be cherished.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
I always looked up to my dad, James McLamb.  I would have to say him.  He played upper ball (played for teams including Blantons, Kirks Glass, Bedsoles
Pig and Chicken) and I traveled around the nation growing up and watching him play.  We have been teammates since I started playing at the age of 12 for our church team.  He can still hit it!  He has been my BP partner since I was born and I still love the fellowship we have whenever we go to the church field and take some swings.  No matter what he has planned, if I call him up and need some cuts, he is willing to meet me and play some hitting games.  We are still dominating the league ball scene.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
There are so many young studs out there, but I would have to go with Jeremy Yates.  I had the privelege of playing with him this past year and he is great.  He is an awesome dude and great teammate.  I wish him luck this year with Resmondo.  He will only get better, as long as he quits thinking so much (ain't that smart haha) and just plays!

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
I played baseball (shortstop) and basketball (point guard) in high school.  I wanted to party a little too much in college.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I started playing C ball while I was in college with Wardrobe/Cici's Pizza.  I would travel after my last class on Fridays and go play ball and then back to school.  I then went on to play with Barry Bunn and B&B, who has now started in the conference.  Travis Taylor then gave me the opportunity to play conference, and I am blessed for all that he has done for my family and I.  He is one of the best sponsors in the game.  I also had the privilege of playing with Shoppe for one season.  Coach Blackburn is definitely the most intense person in the game.  Also, I was a member of the ASA Champions Dan Smith a couple years ago.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
I used to play with a guy that was absolutely hilarious.  He would wake us up every Saturday and Sunday morning with a rooster call that would wake up the whole hotel.  His favorite line was when a pitcher would throw two straight balls and the count would be 3-1.  "He hasn't came two straight times since he was 18 years old."

Oh, and my boy Bryan Goins getting thrown out from right field at the Smoky.
