An interview with Miken’s Denny Crine!
Denny Crine
Has softball interfered with your Job?
Yes
Has softball interfered with your family?
Yes
What sort of unusual training methods have you used to improve your hitting?
Most of my BP swings are taken at the cages at BLD Las Vegas
Do you think Worlds should be rotated around the United States each year? Which state(s) would you like to see them be in?
Major should be at Disney, can't beat the atmosphere. All other Worlds should be rotated East/West.
What is 1 thing you would change about the game and 1 thing you would not change?
I would regionalize the Conference. If i lived on the East Coast, I would probably disagree. You only get it if you are from the West.
How many divisions do you believe softball should have? (Currently M, AA, A, B, C, D, E)
The divisions we have now are fine. I would however treat each conference team in a Conference tournament the same. No reason to have different rules for different teams in a Conference event.
Have you ever been cut by a team?
Yes, best thing that happened to me. Didn't have to continue to be part of the shit show!
When do you feel you will hang 'em up?
I will always play the game. I enjoy playing, that is why I play now. I will cut back the travel as time goes on.
Has softball opened any doors for you?
I have had a lot of great experiences because of softball!
Do you prefer to play tournaments in baseball or softball fields?
No preference
What do you find the most challenging in playing?
The travel from the West Coast
What makes you nervous in a game?
Lightning
What is your number you wear on your uniform? is it special to you and why?
41, College number
Who's the best sponsor you've ever played for?
4 The Fallen and Tony Verdugo
What's your favorite bat of all time?
DC 41, any of the 2p versions

2 words that don’t usually go together describe Dennys swing. SMOOTH POWER
A great ball player but a better man! Always takes time out to talk to you and seems more concerned of how you are doing than himself. One of the smoothest swings you’ll ever see. Good luck this season big fella!
had the chance to sit and talk with Denny in Chicago in a lightning delay one of the nicest and respectful guys you would ever want to meet. good luck in the new year sir.
