All outfield positions first base and catcher.
Best position Right field.

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Scott Strieble (my brother)

Why do you like the game of softball?
I love the challenge.  The feeling of victory and the team chemistry and friendships made over the years.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Can't name just one guy,  So many positions and so many different types of players that form a team.  Everyone is essential power hitters speed defense offense.  No one player has it all.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Horse, A guy I used to play with gave me the name in Steam Boat Springs, Colorado.  I did a sprint challenge up a hill and left the competition in the dust then ran back down to my position in left middle and robbed a home run.  Later we were eating and all you can eat sushi buffet and the guy said that because I'm huge and fast and ate so much food that it was disgusting I was like a horse.  I have been known as horse in softball ever since.

What is your height and weight?
6'4"  270lbs.

Las Vegas, NV

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
playing with my kids Lilly and Brody

What do you do for a living?
I own my own nightclub hosting business in Las Vegas.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
yes baseball in all three.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started as a local after by career in baseball ended.  Played one year then Scott got me hooked up on Resmondo as an extra player for the end of 2007 season.   We won the world title.  All the guys on that team saw me and my ability.  Fell out of the game because of my nightclub career but now I make my own schedule and run my own company I am free to commit again.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The level of competition is way better.  Conference play is for elite players.  And the gap between the two is very extensive.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
my brothers, 5 tool player run hit throw defend and instinct.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Playing against combat when I was with johnny blaze in the opener I hit a line drive about 8 feet off the ground to left that cleared the left field wall.  At first base Rusty Bumgardner said that might be the hardest ball he has ever seen hit.  I'm sure he was being nice but it sticks in my mind.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
JD Phelps and Rusty Huge Huge guys.  Nicest people I have ever met and had the honor of playing with.  I miss big 40

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Don't let the hype get to you.  All these guys we hear about are just players like you and I.  They work very hard to be the best but anyone can.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
28 oz.  Baseball grip,  no overlap

Swing very hard, the ball seems to go further when I do that.

Bad to the Bone

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Find a way to publicize it.  The put freaking texas holdem poker on espn and not softball.  That's embarassing.

Smoky, unlimited home runs.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
texas roadhouse, prime rib and fresh baked bread with honey cinnamon butter.

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
Andy Purcell flipping out over ball and strike calls.  It cracks me up every time.

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
Scott Streible is my long lost brother from my dad's marriage to his first wife.  30 years went by before Scott's wife Marie convinced him to connect with our dad and he is the big brother that I have missed out on my entire life.  I met my brother for the first time almost 8 years ago now and he is my best friend in the entire world.

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
My favorite gift ever that I have given and received is the smile on a kids face when he or she looks at you like their hero.
