2010 Conference USSSA Indiana Recap Page #2
3rd Place Hub's Pub
Conf 'B' from Missouri, 5-2 Indiana Record
Hubs Pub knocked off Darkside twice by the run rule and beat NW Combat convincingly as well. On Sunday morning they beat Team Combat 26-21 to finish 3rd. Hubs Pub is a team I will have to follow more closely the next time I see them as they have changed their roster quite a bit from 2009.

'A' from Washington, 4-2 Indiana Record
Team Combat staggered the lineup some, mixing the base hitter's and the homerun hitter's and took a step in the right direction. They won an entertaining game over Midwest Swing 32-26, then crushed Blitz 28-5. They lost to EWS, then won on a walk-off by Rusty in the bottom of the 7th over NW Combat. In the morning Sunday they couldn't come back to beat Hubs Pub and finished 4th. Robo was playing 3B and Robert Sena was playing some middle infield.
Team Combat is still learning to play together and before they left on Sunday morning they were having what looked to be a pretty serious team meeting.

Tied 5th Darkside/TYJA
'B' from Connecticut, 5-2 Indiana Record
Darkside moves to 22-5 on the season in USSSA play and 12-3 in Conference play with a 3-0 record against 'A' teams! Darkside lost both of their games in Indiana to Hubs Pub. In between the losses they knocked off K&G and American Fighter by a combined 34-4 and then Blitz and Sinister in closer games. In the Sinister game there was some bench clearing on a rough play at the plate.
Darkside is another team I need to spend some more time observing as they are now a player in the 'B' division. They are led by former Gas-Heaven pitcher Moose White and former Bud Light player Joe Gordon as well as hitter's Mike Lewis and Neil Haglund.

Tied 5th northwest combat/ cj financial
Conf 'A' from Washington, 3-2 Indiana Record
NW Combat lost to Hubs in the 2nd round then run ruled an upset minded Dizzy Rooster's as well as a stunned GTL team before getting knocked out by Rusty's walk-off homer. NW is still way ahead of where I thought they'd be at this point in the seaon.
NW Combat decides whether to walk Johnny Mac in a key situation. Didn't matter they lost on a walk off anyways.
NW Combat pitcher Derek Warren (MVP of the Phoenix tourny), I owed him a pic…
Tied 7th GTL CARTEL/WORTH
Conf 'A' from Washington, 2-2 Indiana Record
I got nothin. GTL needs to figure this out, they have time. They are 2-4 against 'A' teams, 3-3 against 'B' teams. I guess a bright spot is Dress, Salas, and Pesso were leading the team in onbase coming into Indiana, thats unexpected and refreshing. Start playing/thinking like underdogs, more bite, less bark…but keep the swagger. Kerm, do a better job of warming up to the wife so you are allowed out to play…
Regroup fellas…again
Chad worked hard to get sent to the shower's
Tied 7th Sinister/Worth/Mojo
'A' from Michigan, 2-2 Indiana Record
Sinister won every other game they played and had a nice win sending Shoppe home 29-21. They were without shortstop Jeff McGavin, power hitting Todd Pease, and hot hitting Casey Rogowski.
Sinister has now improved their record against 'A' teams to 4-1, while their record against 'B' teams has dropped to 5-4? Anyways Sinister is off to a solid start to the season.
Sinister didn't have the weekend I thought they would.

A special thanks to Carl who I met in Indiana who has been following upper level ball for almost 40 years. Carl has compiled roster's from all of the top teams since 1973 and he gave me a copy of all that information. When I get some free time I will be adding his amazing historical roster's compilation to the site. Thanks Carl!
