outfield, catcher, first, EH

Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Luis Reyna

Why do you like the game of softball?
Competitive, fun, played baseball all through college so love to be able to have a career and compete at a high level on the weekends.

Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Cole Campbell. Incredible attitude, absolutely smashes the ball, solid defender as well. Plays the game hard.

What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Usually something like Big'un or Tex. I'm 6'7 and from Texas.

What is your height and weight?
6'7 255

Where do you call home?
Fort Worth, Texas

What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
fishing, hunting, working at my family's ranch.

What do you do for a living?
Detonation Engineer for an oil and gas company.

Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
yes. Baseball.

How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Buddy called me when I finished my college career and I got hooked on it. Teams kept seeing me play and I kept getting invites.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The defense was flawless

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Chris Greinert

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Walk off homerun on the big field at C worlds.

In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
Yes. Toby Harrah was a good friend of my grandpas growing up and he taught me the mental side of baseball.

What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Play hard every single play. Never take a play off even if it seems to be a sure out.

What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
Standard one pinky over 27-28 oz

What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
workout mostly.

What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Detroit Tigers. Baseball.

Do you have any superstitions and if so, what are they?
Just if a routine is working stick with it.

What would be your "at bat" music selection?
shipping up to Boston dropkick Murphy.

What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
International tournaments would be cool.

What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
South Texas Budfest. It's always competitive and a huge crowd.

What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Disney for worlds. Very well maintained.

Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Rosa's Tacos

What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
outfielder took a fly to the crotch

Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I compete nationally in long drive competitions in the offseason.

What was your favorite sports related gift you have ever given or received?
It was an award. I got a custom Rawlings glove for national pitcher of the month.
