A good friend of mine Mikey Weins asked me to fill in on his league team. I said no because I had the same thought process as most everyone else.

Softball was for girls. He baited me with beer.. I played one game and was instantly hooked.

A great man by the name of Rob Fanning and his Coach took a chance on me and gave me the opportunity to play for RFC. They were a older group that I was fortunate enough to be able to play with and learn from. Learn the game and learn how to be a real member of a team.

I don't know how exactly it happened but the Myers guys made me a part of a Conference team last year.. It has been one incredible ride so far.

What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Just the pitchers and how they can manipulate a softball and make it do different things.

Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
I wouldn't say there is any one person. I talk to, and pick a lot of peoples brains and gather as much information as I can and try and mold it to me and the style I feel works for me.

What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Being selected All Conference in my first year. I was incredibly shocked I remember actually dropping my phone when I heard my name. I felt like the principal was calling me down or something. Amazing experience.

Approach to hitting- Mike Brown

Approach to the team, my team- 1st Sgt Siercks.. Team is all that matters.

Great kid who has a passion for the game. REAL passion… I just HAD to go to the superstition question first… Anyone who knows my philosophy on lefty/lefties would understand. Great future ahead for this kid… You look at him & you just have to smile. Good luck this year kid!
