A look back at how the "2009 Prospect List" turned out

2009 Prospect List as picked by DW before the season started.  This is a look back at how the list turned out:

The Top 10 (in Alphabetical order by last name) – The list contains only players that were not on the USSSA Major list or the USSSA Major Watch list before the 2009 season.

Look for my 2010 Prospect List to be posted next week.

Willie Allen of Bud Light – Primarily played middle infield for Bud.  Drifted to the bottom of a good lineup.  Overall solid season.  Was Defensive MVP of the Cincinnati Major.

alt

Brian Blount of GTL – The Men’s ‘A’ World Defensive MVP at middle infield turned in another solid year and had a .615 OBA.  Blount will probably return to GTL after midseason.

alt

Kyle Cowart of Jean Shoppe – Turned in an outstanding 2009 on both sides of the ball.  May have the most range of any outfielder in the game.  Sported a .683 OBA, 35 HR, and was Defensive MVP of the Maryland Major.  Should play for Jean Shoppe in 2010.

alt

Kyle Decker of Combat USA – played middle infield and had a slight down year with the stick.  Look for Decker to rebound in 2010 with NW Combat.

 alt

Jeremy Isenhower of Long Haul – Had 1 MVP and 5 All Tournament selections as a 2nd baseman and batted an incredible .738 OBA.  Was selected All Conference.  Isenhower had the walk-off homer in the bottom of the 7th over Dan Smith at the World Series and has moved on to play for Dan Smith in 2010.  Jeremy was added to the Major Player’s List for 2010.

 alt

Jon Jamison of Blitz Watanabe – Jamison helped power the Blitz offense to a 2nd place finish at the ‘B’ World Tournament and hit .664 OBA and 32 HR’s for the season.  He was All Tournament at ‘B’ Worlds and the Indiana Major.  Look for Jamison to be back with Blitz in 2010.

 alt

Bryan King of Resmondo – Again was the utility man for World Champion Resmondo.  King’s OBA slipped to .562 in part time duty but the glove remained consistent.

 alt

Jon Oram of Northwest Combat/Trojans – Jon batted leadoff and played shortstop for the 2009 ‘B’ World Champs.  Oram finished with a slightly lower than normal .626 OBA but managed All Tournament honor’s at the ‘B’ World and the Mike Davis Major.  Look for Oram to remain with NW Combat in 2010.

 alt

Todd Pease of Bud Light – Played 1st Base for Bud.  Managed a .637 OBA with 34 HR’s.  Pease made All Tournament in the St Louis and Carolina Major’s.  Todd was added to the Major Watch List for 2010.

 alt

Coleman Smith of 24/7 Softball – Coleman played briefly with the 24/7 Conference team before they folded.  He was 22-26 with 4 HR’s in the HOF Classic.  We hope to see Coleman back on the circuit in 2010.
