The 18th Annual Texas Legends Major is this coming weekend at Softball World in Euless, Texas just outside of Dallas.  It features 32 teams from 13 different states with a Euless record 19 teams from the Nationwide Conference USSSA.  There will be 2 Major teams, 4 'AA' teams, 8 'A' teams, 13 'B' teams, anb 5 'C' teams.  

The two major teams Dan Smith who is the #1 seed and Smash It Sports/Thunder who is the #4 seed because of Nationwide Conference USSSA points will be on the same side of the bracket.  This should make for some great early round matchups in this tournament as the Major vs Major game and a AA vs AA matchups could occur in the winner's bracket semifinals.  There is great heat expected so look for the Conference ZN Classic M ball to get a little soft between 10 AM and 8 PM and the scores to fall off some from what we have seen early this season.  

This tournament looks like it will be tied for the 6th biggest as far as the number of Conference teams in the event and the points that can be earned.  Only the Hall of Fame Dual, Columbus Ohio, Smoky, and Cincinnati Majors are bigger this year.  The winning team in Euless will earn 150 + (19 x 4) = 226 points!  With 2nd place getting 186, 3rd-166, 4th-156, 5th-146 etc… 

Some interesting matchups are Olmito Heat and Wood Law in the first round Friday and a possible Classic Glass vs Bay Area Legends matchup in the 2nd round at 10:30 AM Saturday morning.  Look for the upsets that we have seen every weekend to continue.

Note: the temperatures are expected to be in the mid 90's so that is bad for livestreaming but I will build some shade covers and may try to stop and buy some small fans to put on the iphones/ipods we use to stream.

Home run fences on all 4 fields in Euless are around 300 down the lines and 310 to center field and they will use the Dudley ZN Classic M ball.

The other teams looking to upset the major teams are: TDB/FAI/Klutch/Miken; Newbreed/Steel Sports/DeMarini and Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon.

Euless Predictions:  Friday night all teams will play one game and like in year's past usually 1 conference team loses to a local team.  This year's local teams that will upset in the first round are:  Tunie Sports/Bedlam/Wak; GVMS/Old School/Steel/24-7Softball and Nine 1 Five/ASPNation/Sportsline.  The final 4 undefeated should be: TDB versus Newbreed and Smash It versus Dan Smith.
