The Seattle "Dual" Major will start on Thursday afternoon at Noon Pacific time with all 24 teams playing as many as 3 games on Thursday.  The first tournament continues all day Friday with the championship game set for 5 PM.  The second dual tournament actually starts while the first one is finishing on Friday night and continues all day on Saturday with the championship set for Sunday at 11 AM.   There is also a 9 team Women's Dual Major featuring 3 'A' teams – Derby Girls, Easton Tunie, and Team Demarini.

Dual Event update.

1. OA will have their west coast trailer on site with amazing new products. They will be open for business Thursday to Sunday.

2. Easton will be sending in product teams for bats, bags, and gloves. We will have cages on site for bat testing. Baseball – Softball – Fast-pitch.

3. Easton will have bat engineers on site Thursday through Saturday to discuss everything bats. 
We will be introducing our New Ghost bats as well as the new USSSA fireflex.  We will also have the 2018 baseball line available to hit.

4. We will also have some stations setup for focus groups on what players are missing.

5. We will have amazing giveaways – and chances to win amazing products.

6. We will have the soon to be launched senior slow-pitch bats.

7. The new line of USSSA apparel and work out gear will be available.

8. We want to show USSSA, City of Kent, State of Washington and King County that this community would support and will support a World tournament on a annual basis. How do we show that? Fill this park to the rim ….. let everyone know how much we love the game, and not just slow-pitch but all diamond sports.

9. We will have the USSSA National Board of Directors in town to see what we have been talking about.

10. We have the Top Men's Major and AA teams.

11. We have the Top Women's team in the country.

Product testing – Giveaways – Friends – Great Softball what else could you want.

The Dual Major features 5 of the Major teams on 300 foot fields and only 24 teams total so there should be a lot of great Major vs Major matchups throughout the 4 days.  The Conference Dudley ZN Classic M ball will be used in somewhat cooler weather so the home runs and scores should be way up.

Note: Resmondo is bit banged up with Kyle Pearson, Bubba Mack, and possibly Brad Reckart missing with pulled muscles.

I (DW) think SIS/Albicocco will win the first event and Racks and Newbreed who play well when they are tired can win the 2nd event.

The winner of each Major would receive 165 + (4 x 10) = 205 points.

This weekend the Seattle "The Derby Dual" major only has 10 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams in attendance but will be a mini Major World Series with all 5 major, 3 AA, 2 A and 14 local teams playing on 300 foot fields with a homerun limit.  The Conference USSSA point leader and #1 overall seed Smash It/Miken/Worth is the favorite to win. The other teams looking to upset the favorite are: a banged up Resmondo/O.A. Apparel/H.Auto/Special looking to feed off any undefeated Dudley major win; the first "Dual" winner Dan Smith/Menosse; Newbreed/GTS/Demarini or Rack's/Sonny's/Athlon.

Dual I Predictions:  The final 4 undefeated should be 2 exciting matchups: Dan Smith versus Newbreed and Smash It versus Rack's.  I predict the favorite Smash It to beat Racks and Newbreed to beat Dan Smith. The undefeated game matching Smash It versus Newbreed could be decided before it starts with the coin flip because this game will most likely be decided with a walk off in the bottom of seventh.  In the loser's bracket I predict the 5th place games to be Dan Smith versus OA and Racks versus Resmondo.  If all holds true like predicted then Dan Smith and Racks would play for 4th place.

Dual II Predictions: The second dual is hard to make predictions not knowing which teams will get bit by the injury bug in the first dual. So there should be a lot of upsets and I am going to pick some of the teams that did not do as well in the first dual since they will be rested.

5. Racks/Sonny's/Athlon

OAApparel/Broughton/KBI/Easton will be my sleeper team because they should be able to manage their homeruns on the 300 foot fields versus the major teams.
It will be exciting tournament to watch in anticipation of which teams will get upset.
