2017 Cincinnati bracket link

The Cincinnati Major is this Friday through Sunday at the Mid America Ballyard in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The games start on Friday at 5:00 PM eastern time with 36 teams total, 25 from the Nationwide Conference USSSA, 5 of which are Major teams, and 9 of which are 'AA' team.  This is a stacked field of teams that rivals that of last weekends Smoky Mountain Classic!   There should be some great softball played with what looks to be good weather especially on Saturday and Sunday.  The great matchups start early in this tournament with Killbombers and JBL/Tailgaters at 6:15 PM, Pure Sports and Primetime at 7:30 PM Friday, Bad Draw vs Premier at 8:45 PM, and TDB/TMSports vs TG Brand at 10:00 PM.  Then on Saturday beginning at 9:30 AM through the end of the tournament it should be one great game after another until the end of the event on the main fields.  They have scheduled the 4 quarterfinal games one after the other (Smoky style) on the main field starting at high noon!

Livestreaming:  The internet reception at the Mid America Ballyard is the worst in the Conference because the park sits at the bottom of a mountain.  So livestreaming will be attempted but the goal is to get field #1 working and the other fields are not a priority.  Sorry.  Thats just the way its always been there.  The quality of the stream will also be very low.  This is a tournament where you will want to jump in the car and check it out in person as the park has so much shade you can watch all 4 fields from the comfort of your chair and enjoy some cold beverages while you do so. Livestream Link (if it works)

Shea Nations Cincy picks!

This weekend the Cincinnati major has 25 Nationwide Conference USSSA teams in attendance with 5 major, 9 AA, 5 A, 3 B and 11 local teams playing.  The Conference USSSA point leader and #1 overall seed Smash It/Miken/Worth is the favorite to win. The other teams looking to upset the favorite are: Resmondo/O.A. Apparel/H.Auto/Special; Dan Smith/Menosse; Newbreed/GTS/Demarini or SIS/Thunder/Miken/Worth/Louisville.

Predictions:  With not much change in the point standings we will have a lot of the same matchups as the Smoky Mountain Classic.  It will be interesting to see which teams will prevail with the homerun limit.  The final 4 undefeated should be 2 familar matchups: Newbreed versus Resmondo and Smash It versus Thunder.  I predict Smash It to beat Thunder and the winner of Resmondo/Newbreed game like they have all year.  In the loser’s bracket I predict the 5th place games to be Newbreed versus Xtreme and  Thunder versus The Scene.  If all holds true like predicted then Thunder and Newbreed would play for 4th place.

It will be exciting tournament to watch in anticipation of which teams will get upset.

Shea Nations Final Picks for the Cincinnati Major:
1. Smash It/Miken/Worth
2. Resmondo/O.A. Apparel/H.Auto/Special
3. SIS/Thunder/Miken/Worth
4. Newbreed/GTS/Demarini
5. Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon
    The Scene/HDLNS/BHR/Easton

Oldscout pollsters going with #1 Smash It Sports/TDB

DW is going with SIS/Thunder who's core of players have won the last two years in Cincy.

The two fields in the back are 280-290 feet on the fences so homerun management is key.

The two main fields are 300 feet all the way around.  It is 422 feet to the top of the hill on the main field out behind the homerun fence just for reference.
