The Cactus Classic was won by the upstart Bay Area Legends from California as they went undefeated and beat Stars/Garretsons/DH Glogal Logistic from Colorado 27-12 leaving them on the field in the bottom of the 5th because of the 15 run mercy rule.  Stars led 11-5 early in the game but it was all Bay Area Legends the rest of the way as they outscored Stars 22-1 in the middle innings.  The tournaments loser's bracket was dropped from the 5 PM games Saturday to the end of the tournament when torrential rains wiped out the rest of the Saturday evening games.  On Sunday morning only the final 4 teams in the winner's bracket returned.  In the first semi final the heavily favored OC Swats Doerflinger team had a 28-18 lead on Stars left over from the start of the game the previous night going into the bottom of the 5th.  But it was all Stars on Sunday as they closed the lead to two runs with a 6 run bottom of the 6th and held Swats scoreless in the top of the 7th.  In the bottom of the 7th trailing 30-28, Stars got a single from Danny Higa, a double from Grady Corcoran, and a game tying double from pitcher Chad Loudon.  With the game tied at 30-30 and no one out and after an intentional walk OC Swats got a grounder to middle man Ryan Mcclanahan who tagged the runner going to 3rd, stepped on 2nd, and threw to first.  But they only got two outs on the play as the runner was safe at first and Stars won the game with a walk off double by Tyler Garretson to advance to the championship.  In the other semi final Bay Area Legends jumped out to a 16-3 lead on Tunie Sports a non Conference Arizona team and won easily 29-20.  Since it was single elimination on Sunday Tunie and OC Swats finished in a tie for 3rd.
