2016 Circle City Team List

The "Circle City Classic" moves from the Midwest Sports Complex where it was for the past two seasons and will be played at the Indy Sports Complex in 2016.  For many years (1996-2001) the classic was an NSA flight tournament that was attended by a large amount of the top teams.  See the list of winners at the bottom of this article.  The past two years it was the last weekend in June but this year due to park availability was moved to the week after the Hall of Fame Classid April 23-24 and will start on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM Eastern.  The tournament features the 2016 USSSA Major World Series champion Resmondo Specialty Tank Worth team who added the Indy Major to try and improve their points situation going into the Columbus, Ohio Major in two weeks.  I will be trying to drive over from Ohio and should be there in time to start putting up usssalive camera for livestreaming around 9 AM which is the start of the tourny so please be patient.

The classic will begin with a home run derby:  The Indy Major home run derby starts Friday at 7pm at Indy Sports Park. This will take place on the back fields 5&6. You can sign up early through me or at the park. 10 pitches with two takes. Hitting brand new stadium balls. It's $20 sign up and the winner gets a brand new Miken Freak 30! This is open to any player of any level. If you want to sign up early, text Zach Renner at 317-820-8384.

Team Breakdown:
18 Teams Overall
9 Conference USSSA Teams
  1 'M' Team
  2 'AA' Teams
  1 'A' Teams
  6 'B' Teams
  5 'C' Teams
  3 'D' Teams

Precision has won the past two years with Red's Astros second.  This year they will have to contend with Resmondo.  Resmondo can lose but not twice and the other AA and A teams will have to avoid upset bids from a slew of B and C teams playing close to home.  It will be a long day of softball for the final 4 teams but I am glad they decided to start on Saturday instead of Friday.

DW's Picks:
1) Resmondo Specialty Tank Worth
2) TG/Red's Astros/Headlines/K&G/Worth
3) Precision
4) Impossible to pick the 4th place team, could be any of about 10 teams but we will go with Street Kids
