2016 BSC Worlds

Columbus, GA

September 2-4

South Commons Softball Complex

The 2016 BSC World Series took place over the Labor Day weekend in Columbus, Georgia at former Olympic venue South Commons Softball Complex.  The tournament featured teams from 23 states, and players from 36 states and international communities.

There were 6 divisions, Mens(50s, 40s, Comp, Recreational) and Womens(Comp and Recreational).

In the Mens Comp Division featuring 11 teams, Pace Miken and Prime Time Easton were everyone’s favorite to win the title.  But on Sunday Morning, only one team remained undefeated, Andre Bell's Cuttin Up out of Florida. Leaving Pace and Prime Time to battle it out for the chance to try and double dip Cuttin Up.  Pace won the battle to face Cuttin Up, and double dipped them to capture the Mens Competitive Title.

In the Womens Comp Division featuring 12 teams, perennial power Team Easton (formerly Enough Said Easton), once again was sitting on Sunday Morning undefeated, one game away from another world title.  But Ladies Cuttin Up Easton Adidas caught fire early Sunday morning, and never let up. Run ruling Team Easton twice to capture the 2016 title.

In the Mens 50 and Over division Caligold Athletics went undefeated un Saturday knocking off 2 time defending Champions TSC Miken, before facing PLE in the Championship on Sunday.  Ple was able to force the if game, but Caligold Athletics featuring Larry Carter and some other veterans would be too much on this weekend.

In the 40 and Over Division, Team 40/40, who has been dominant all year, continued their dominance, going undefeated on the weekend.

In the Womens Rec Division, Texas Queens, playing in their first East Coast tournament of the year and facing all of their opponents for the first time, stormed through the tournament to be undefeated Sunday morning. Tournament favorite
Newman's who lost to them in the winners bracket final lost to Family and Friends out of North Carolina, denying them the chance to try and double dip Texas Queens.  Family and Friends was able to force an if game but Texas Queens would not be denied. Winning the 2016 title.
