Final 2015 USSSA Women’s Major Computer Rankings!
After attending the Toys for Tots in Palm Springs I realized I never put up the final computer rankings for the Womens teams.
These rankings are based off of performance in the Womens Major qualifiers, and Womens Major, B, and C World tournaments only.
Enough Said/Easton won the Women's Major
Derby Girls/Combat/Softball.com won the Women's 'B'
Bryant Express won the Women's 'C'

A minimum of 5 games vs 'D' and higher teams is needed to appear in rankings
SOS stand for "Strength of Schedule"
Rankings Formula explained:
Each team receives:
8 points for defeating a A class team
5 points for defeating a B class team
3 points for defeating a C class team
1 points for defeating a D class team
Each team receives an additional:
8 points for winning a tournament
6 points for finishing 2nd
4 points for finishing 3rd
2 points for finishing 4th
And finally each team has their point total reduced by:
1 points for losing to a A team
2 points for losing to a B team
3 points for losing to a C team
4 points for losing to a D team
6 points for losing to a E team.
Each teams total points are then divided by the number of games they have played against upper level (Major, A, and B) teams.
So the formula in mathmatical terms would be:
AveragePointsPerGame =
((WinA*8)+(WinB*5)+(WinC*3)+(WinD*1)
+((WinTourny*8)+(2ndTourny*6)+(3rdTourny*4)+(4thTourny*2))
-((LossA*1)+(LossB*2)+(LossC*3)+(LossD*4)+(LossE*6)))
/ (total games vs A, B, C, D, E)
In short the formula is:
AveragePointsPerGame =
((weighted wins against upper teams)
+ (weighted top 4 in tournament finishes)
– (weighted losses))
/ (# of upper games)
The average points per game is then sorted highest to lowest and those are the rankings.

Is it better to have total points, or average points?
I see Combat has the best avg and is listed one, but NTL has 35 points but is 3rd?

Rankings are in order by average points. So average is better.
A team could collect more total points by playing every tournament so that isn’t a fair total to use although total points is the tie breaker.
DW,
Where’s Enough Said/Easton in these rankings? Did they just get missed?
I don’t believe Enough Said has played a Major qualifier, unless I missed it?
Yea…they’ve finished 2nd in almost every tournament that Ladies Cuttin Up has won.
Ladys Cuttin up has only played one Major and Enough Said was not there.
Here was the tournament:

USSSA shows enough said hasn’t played a major this year, or any tournaments for that matter.
I think because they are ‘A’ they automatically get a berth in the major.
Gotcha! So most of the Open BSC tournaments aren’t classified as Women’s Major tournaments. They’ve finished 1 & 2 three weekends straight.
Pony, these computer rankings are based upon USSSA events only. I have only had 2(Kissimmee,Myrtle Beach) Major World Series qualifiers for women this year.
DW any word on how this bracket was seeded by USSSA?
I don’t know.
In reality the women’s major is just another tourney over 1/2 the teams played 1 or 2 tourneys. They just get to play in a nice venue. It gives most teams a second chance to get a ring. You really do not have ti be committed to playing Utrip. Just play the right tourneys and you are good to go.
