This July 4th weekend is the Arkansas Major aka the 35th Annual Busch/Pepsi Classic!  The tournament features 21 'B' and 'C' teams so it should be a wide open shootout.  The favorites will be the local Arkansas team Fence Brokers Inc/Buzini/Worth, Nightmare/Louisville Slugger, and B&B Drywall/Easton.   ASPNation.com/Dynasty/Reset/Easton could be a dark horse but are playing without all the Dynasty guys like pitcher Cam Byars and others like Jason Magnum, Josh Wiggs, Tommy Melton and Wes Parker.  Other teams that have an outside shot are Sportscenter and non-conference Syndicate who always plays the 'B' and 'C' teams tough.  The competition and amount of close games could be the best of the year with the top teams having only a slight advantage in any given game and the heat could keep scores down during the day.

Team Breakdown (Team List)
21 Teams Overall
  7 Conference USSSA Teams
3 'B' Team (looks like Fence Brokers was re-classed to 'B')
18 'C' Teams (nice turnout of 'C' teams)

Most all of the teams will play Friday at least once.  They usually have a nice home run derby and the Arkansas Hall of Fame ceremony. The tournament begins on Friday with the annual Home Run Derby, The Fastest Base runner competition, and the Arkansas Hall of Fame Ceremony. The tournament is an Arkansas softball tradition put on by Clint and Marla Albright each year.  They will have over 120 teams in 5 divisions of play on 300 foot fields.  And of course the growing contingent of top notch Conference umpires from Arkansas will be working the games.  Go git you some of that sweet tea and watch u sum games!

Friday, July 4th
  – Home Run Derby at 5:00 pm at Sherwood
  – Arkansas Hall of Fame at 5:00 pm at Sherwood starting with dinner and then a ceremony on field 10.

Steve#77 is 3rd in the pickem overall standings and has his picks in already for Arkansas so he is the guest picker of the week:
1)Nightmare
2)B&B
3)Sports Center
4)FBI

My (DW) picks:
Wow, B&B and FBI would play early on, could affect the top 4 right there. B&B beat them in Euless.
1) B&B Drywall – still playing great, tough side of the bracket
2) Nightmare – looking to break through and win an event
3) FBI – more than capable of going undefeated in this
4) Syndicate – one of the best non-conference 'C' teams every year
