The Connecticut Major is this coming Friday-Sunday and is the next stop on the Conference USSSA schedule.
The Connecticut tournament features 2 'B' teams, 16 'C' teams, and 12 'D' teams. Only one of the teams, Magic S&S is from Conference USSSA.
The tournament has a distinct east coast flavor to it with all 30 teams coming from the NY, CT, RI, MA.
Weather looks pretty good
This event should be wide open. Any of about 8 or 9 teams should have a shot with Magic/S&S/TYJA/Easton out of Plymouth, MA being the favorite. They are a 'B' team and are 7-2 vs the 'B' division and 11-1 vs the 'C' division this year. Checking/Worth, last years winner is the #2 seed but they are just 1-5 vs Magic in 2012.
Checking gets a bad draw as Platinum Sports should meet them in the 2nd round. Platinum had a top 5 finish in the North Carolina Conference event last year and I can't help but think they have a shot at winning this tournament if they can get past Checking.
I don't know a lot about the teams in this tournament but I'll take Checking to beat KL&R in the top half. There is some buzz around who is on the roster for Jolt. Maybe some of The Scene guys? But who knows.
The bottom half of the bracket a second round game between TYJA/Darkside and Deluxe Bakery should be a good one. I'll go with Magic to beat TNT and then TYJA/Darkside.

3) TYJA/Darkside
4) Platinum Sports
5) TNT Softball
5) Deluxe Bakery
