33rd Annual Busch/Pepsi Classic tournament preview
"33rd Annual Busch/Pepsi Classic"
Arkansas Major
Tournament Preview
presented by
The Arkansas Major is this coming weekend July 6-8 at the Sherwood Sports Complex in Sherwood, Arkansas. The tournament features 25 teams overall including 6 teams from the Nationwide Conference USSSA. This is a very good B/C caliber regional tournament and with the predicted 100 degree temperatures should make for some close low scoring games. Close and low scoring of course play into Fence Brokers hands. FBI always plays better in their home tournament and are definitely the favorite here.
With no Major or 'A' teams in the tournament, the top 4 spots are wide open with a number of conference teams looking to score some good points and move up the 'B' rankings to get a better seed for worlds.
Broadcast will start at 5 PM Central on Friday evening with the HOF ceremony and home run derby. Saturday broadcasting will start with the quarterfinals at 2 PM Central. Most all of the final games are on the show field. My flight leaves on Sunday at 3:30 PM, I didn't realize the "if" game of the championship was set for 2 PM. Hopefully the teams that travelled in knew about this ahead of time?

Looks like the picture was taken in the winter, I hear it is a beautiful park
Lets take a look at the bracket. Bracket link:
The top quarter of the bracket is a good warm up for 'C' Worlds as Sagnasty takes on Monster and Miken Mafia takes on Regulators. Any of these 4 teams can come out of this part of the bracket as they all carry some heavy records against their peers. I'll go with Sagnasty over Miken Mafia to go to the final 4.
The second part of the bracket I'll take Team All-Out to beat The Scene. 3rd quarter of the bracket I'll take Buzini over Texas Miken. In the bottom quarter the FBI vs Syndicate game at 11 PM on Friday night should be a good one with the winner beating TPS/Sports Center to go to the final 4. I'll take FBI.

My final 4:
1) BuziniSports.com
2) FBI
3) Sagnasty
4) Team All-Out
Tied for 5th) The Scene
Tied for 5th) Syndicate
The tournament starts on Friday night at 5 PM central with a Arkansas Hall of Fame ceremony followed by a home run derby where the locals will try to make it to the finals and battle it out against a list of Major players who are coming in to put on a long ball show.
