Resmondo-Specialty Tank/Worth

Your 2011 USSSA Major World Tournament Champions – Resmondo-Specialty Tank/Worth

Resmondo-Specialty Tank/Worth, a Major team, based out of Winter Haven, Florida wins the USSSA Major World Series again.  Resmondo won all 5 of their games, one each day starting on Wednesday and ending on Sunday.  They defeated an unlikely opponent, the number 16 seeded Taylormade/TM Sports/Mizuno whom they also played in their very first game of the tournament and beat 22-5.  Taylormade ran off 6 straight wins over the next 4 days to make it all the way back to the championship game.  In the finals Resmondo used a 15 run 3rd inning to separate from and eventually "mercy rule" a feisty Taylormade team 37-19.

Resmondo wins their 3rd World Series title in a row and do so with a display of incredible power as they hit 47 home runs in the 5 games.  They hit a home run out of the baseball field every 4 swings in this tournament.

Resmondo's 15 run 3rd and 13 run 5th inning finished off Taylormade in the finals

Conf 'Major' from Winter Haven, FL   5-0 Record

Resmondo wins their 3rd Major in a row and do so in dominating fashion.  They out powered all of their opponents and are the only team that scores big innings consistently after the first two batters in the inning make outs.  That is impressive.  Krause, Fulk, and Bryson Baker all hit huge home runs and Greg Connell went over the flags and trees on Sunday morning when the temperature pushed towards 90 degrees…WOW!

Resmondo knocked off Taylormade (twice), R&M Metals, and Combat/Laser Vision all by the run rule and beat Team 454 15-10.

Don Dedonatis pulled up with what appeared to be a knee injury in one of the games but continued to play anyways.  Anyone that watched knows that it was affecting his swing and obviously his defense.  Hopefully he gets this knee fixed and rehabbed and gets back to playing next year.

Look for the Resmondo dominance to continue in 2012 as they are one of the few teams that will come back with most of their roster intact.

Conf 'M' from Winterhaven, FL   5-1 Record

Resmondo-Specialty Tank / Worth won with, at times, dominating power, but mostly with just a pure "will to win".  They come out of the loser's bracket and win three straight in the heat an humidity and do so by doing whatever it took to win.  Resmondo was paced by Conference Co-MVP's Bryson Baker and Greg Connell on offense and a barage of two run homer's throughout the lineup.  Resmondo is the clear favorite to win the Major.  The team seems to be near 100% healthy and poised to continue their streak of "mercy rule" wins at the Series.

Resmondo's Bryson Baker (above) was Co-Conference MVP for 2011 (.800, 67 HR, 215 RBI)
with Greg Connell (pictured below) (.801, 111 HR, 300 RBI)

Jr is so good, sometimes he closes his eyes and sees if he can catch it!

Resmondo pitcher Andy Purcell picked up the Defensive Player of the Year award.

Purcell, Connell and the Resmondo players also earned "Arm Thingy" of the week with their custom made arm thingy's

Maybe they could sell those through a website like maybe, SoftballCenter.com!

Resmondo's Howie Krause gets the walk off run rule hit against Combat to force the "If" game

As you can see the umpires hand is still up signalling timeout when Messina pitched the ball and Isenhower hit it.  Thus, no pitch.  There was some controversy on the internet message boards saying that time was not called.

Resmondo-Specialty Tank / Worth, the #1 ranked men's slow-pitch team in the nation came out of the loser's bracket and "double dipped" Team Combat/Laser Vision/D2E/Supreme, the #4 ranked team in the country for the Conference Championship title.  The Championship's were held in their traditional location, the Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, Florida the weekend of September 2-4, 2011.  Resmondo had dropped to the loser's bracket on Saturday after losing to Team Combat/Laser Vision by an astonishing score of 23-4 in the winner's bracket championship game.  Then on Sunday they ran the table, winning 3 straight and picking up their 4th Conference Championship title in the 6 years the league has been in existence.  Resmondo's first win Sunday was a 26-23 win over Suncoast/Reebok after they trailed 15-4 in the second inning.  Then they beat Combat/Laser Vision 22-7 and finally 23-22 on a walk off bases loaded single by Jeremy Isenhower to take the title.  All of the games in the Major portion of the Championships were played on baseball fields with 330-390-410-390-330 dimensions.  The largest fields used in softball today.

Conf 'M' from Winterhaven, FL   9-1 Record

Resmondo-Specialty Tank / Worth comes out of the loser's bracket, winning 6 straight games and holding off R&M Metals in the championship to take their 9th tournament of the season and 4th in a row.  They are now 53-4 in their last 57 games and the loss to the Famous in Michigan was their first loss of the season to any team not named GTL.

In my opinion Bryson Baker was definitely the MVP as he laced line drive single after single all over the park and played the game the right way all tournament long.  The Bisbee pick for Co-MVP feels more like a hometown pick but maybe he had a huge on base percentage, not sure.   Note: the stats are out and Bisbee had a huge .824 on base percentage with 12 homers and is more than deserving of the Co-MVP!

Resmondo's Don Dedonatis Jr. set the table for Connell and Baker
